Post Battle Reflection

This is my D&D character Leo. He is a human coastal druid who maybe isn't entirely cut out for adventuring.
This is a real time character made over the length of ten weeks. Starting with anatomy and forms I was able to study and learn more about the underlying structure of the muscle groups. From there I created a block out of the basic shape and style of the clothing where I could easily manipulate the look and shape of it without getting too far into the details. Once I had the shape of the clothing worked out, I proceeded to detail them with sculptural detail that I could bake onto the low poly mesh as I felt it would give me more versatility as opposed to creating that normal map detail solely in the texturing phase. After I felt happy with the sculptural details I went on to retopologize and UV the model to prepare for texturing. For the pose, I knew I had wanted it to be him sitting and reflecting near a fire so I had taken the low-poly model into Mixamo where I created a rig that would allow me to easily place him in the pose. Texturing was all done in Substance Painter. This was the first time I was able to really dive into Painter to mess around with the layers and blending types to create the texture I wanted. I learned a lot of different techniques and workflows and had a blast all throughout the creation of this sculpt!

Programs used:
- Zbrush // Full sculpt
- Maya // Retopology
- UVLayout // UVs
- Substance Painter // Texturing
- Marmoset Toolbag // Final render
